Chelsea are in touching distance of Arsenal’s record of consecutive wins in the Premier League and have a pretty tough game on their hands. Antonio Conte’s side have been flawless since switching to a 3-4-3 system after an embarrassing loss against Arsenal and have won 13 games on the bounce. No team have come close enough to find the winning formula against the Blues as the West London side boast a 6-point advantage in the title race.
Chelsea will travel to North London on Wednesday to play Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs at White Hart Lane. The Lilywhites have been excellent of late and won 4-1 today against Watford. Pochettino is a quality manager and Spurs have finally found the chemistry in their team.
The Spurs fans, as well as the Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City fans, will be hoping that Pochettino shows his magic to stop Chelsea’s stunning run which is a task is easier said than done.
Chelsea won against Stoke City but it was a hard-fought win as Stoke did equalise twice coming back from behind. Is the secret of Conte’s success getting read by other teams or the magic of the Italian gaffer is yet to show its proper effect? Only time will tell. Here is the predicted Chelsea lineup against Spurs.
Defence
Thibaut Courtois will keep his place under the bar and will be keen to keep up his excellent form. The Chelsea defence has looked impenetrable in most games since Conte switched to a 3-4-3 formation. However, the Chelsea boss will be a bit concerned after seeing his back three getting broken down by Stoke City twice in the last game.
Spurs’ attack are in excellent form and Harry Kane is finally showing his true self. Chelsea must come up with a better defensive display against Spurs on Wednesday. Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz and Gary Cahill will as usual team up in Chelsea defence.
