The apparently unstoppable Chelsea apple-cart came to a screeching halt against Tottenham Hotspur who completely nullified their attack and found loopholes in the defence with confident offensive play. This shows the need to keep on refreshing things to stay in contention and along with it, the lack of quality depth in their side is also an issue which can come back to haunt them in the case of suspensions or injuries.
They got back to winning ways in the FA Cup against Peterborough but a red card to club captain John Terry soured the occasion to an extent. Antonio Conte will surely have a talk with the lads after their 13-match winning streak came to an end and the fact that they are still 5-points ahead of their nearest rival will be reminded to keep up their confidence level.
They will be away at the King Power Stadium facing a Leicester City, whose troubles are far more complex than that of the London Blues. The Premier League trophy, it seems, will again be in the possession of one of these two teams after the Foxes had snatched away Chelsea’s crown last season.
Conte will go in with a full strength team and although an away side win is looking the likeliest, one can’t rule out the possibility of fireworks from the unpredictable Foxes.
Predicted 3-4-3 Chelsea Lineup Vs Leicester City
DEFENCE
Courtois will look to keep a clean sheet and add to his tally on 11 this season. The super-solid backline has made him the clear-cut leader for the Golden Glove this season and he will be hopeful of extending that lead on Saturday.
Azpilicueta will be on the right-side of the back 3 with David Luiz stationed in the middle and Gary Cahill on the left-hand side. Leicester’s direct approach might see them a bit busier than usual but a clean sheet is on the cards.
MIDFIELD
The impressive duo of Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses will be the two wing-backs. Their contribution has been vital this season and they will look to carry on in the same vein.
Kante and Matic are likely to be stationed in midfield and it will be interesting to note the sort of reaction Kante gets from the crowd, with the two clubs experience contrasting fortunes.
ATTACK
Eden Hazard will be on the left wing while Pedro will look to keep Willian out of the team.
Diego Costa will be the striker.
