It is looking increasingly likely that Manchester United won’t be indulging in any transfer ins this January with the window scheduled to close at 2300 BST tomorrow. Although Jose spent a bomb in the summer window, it was apparent that he is far from happy with his squad. And hence they were linked with a number of players with central defence and the wings the areas which were stressed upon. But by the looks of it, Mourinho is more than happy to wait till summer to make further additions.
Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin were the major departures but by the looks of it, he might be joined by Ashley Young as the three first-team players to leave the club. Young was left out of the match-day squad against Wigan and Jose Mourinho stated that the player is the only one is likely to leave the club before the end of the deadline. Young has been a loyal servant for a number of years now and he needs to be playing and the exit, if it happens, will be completely logical.
Let us take a look at 3 clubs in the Premier League where the England international can make a move to.
MIDDLESBROUGH
Boro missed out on Robert Snodgrass and with Bojan also opting for Mainz, they might yet target another new attacker in their quest to give the attack a facelift. A move to Middlesbrough won’t be the worst option. With his experience in the Premier League likely to eclipse others at Boro, he will certainly get a new lease of life. Karanka’s friendship with Jose Mourinho will also play an important role if Boro did decide to make a move for the out of favour player.
WEST HAM UNITED
The Hammers have recently tried to earnestly get their act together after all the mess ups since the summer. They have gone back to the basics and gotten proven Premier League players namely in the signings of Jose Fonte and Robert Snodgrass and things are looking up at the London Stadium. A player like Ashely Young will not be a misfit in the recent scheme of things and with Payet departing to Marseille, Young can increase the depth on the flanks. His versatile nature will come in handy along with his experience.
BURNLEY
The Hornets would have been gutted to miss out on Robert Snodgrass even after their bid was accepted for the player. Sean Dyche has looked in control of things and will be looking for a respectable finish this season. Currently, in the 13th place, he can very well look to seal a move for the apparently available winger. They are visible light on the flanks and Young can be an excellent addition, with his versatility and experience.
