Juan Mata has sent a strong message to Liverpool prior to their match against the Reds on 15th January. Manchester United are placed sixth with 39 points while Liverpool have been sitting in the second position for quite a while.
The Red Devils are enjoying an eight-match winning streak in all competitions for the first time since Jose Mourinho took charge. The Red Devils will have to shrug the challenge of Hull City in the EFL Cup semifinal first leg on Tuesday before facing Liverpool.
Liverpool will have the service of their influential midfielder Philippe Coutinho who is expected to make the starting lineup after a long injury spell. Manchester United have been sweating over the injury of Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling will be the replacement if Rojo doesn’t make it to the team.
Mata said, “The second half of the season is on its way and we are feeling strong and optimistic, as a result of eight consecutive win
“Now it’s time to keep pushing to make this season a great one
“We are also focused on the EFL Cup and we play this Tuesday at home against Hull City
“Then we have one of the fixtures of the year, against Liverpool. It’s a special game, there’s no doubt about it.
“You realise that when you play it for the first time. It’s going to be a great match, a thrilling one, between two teams that are fighting to be as high as possible in the table.”
