Wayne Rooney believes Manchester United have found the perfect successor to Sir Alex Ferguson in Jose Mourinho.
United had not the expected start they had been anticipating. They tried to bring some solidity by hiring David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal but failed to create that atmosphere at Old Trafford. It is very difficult to imitate what Ferguson has done in his 27 years with the club.
The 31-year-old forward recently scored his 250th goal in United colours to become the highest scorer for the Red Devils. The England international said that United’s search of a long-standing success might be in the offing under Mourinho.
“I think that’s part of football.
“Obviously Manchester United have had the stability of Sir Alex over the 26 years before.
“I think over the last three or four years what they have been doing is trying to find the right one and I believe they have found him [in Mourinho].
“Just working every day and seeing how he wants to work, how he is setting the team up. There are successes around the corner.”
