Paul Pogba has revealed that Jose Mourinho’s one advice has completely changed his game. The French midfielder has been instrumental in United’s recent revival. The Red Devils were enjoying a nine-match unbeaten run in all competition with a six-match winning streak in the Premier League prior to their draw against Liverpool.
The 23-year-old midfielder had been finding it hard to get it going in England. He had earlier played for United but after failing to nail a spot in the first team, he decided to give it a try at Juventus.
The midfielder later went on to prove himself as one of the best box to box midfielders in the world and his performance in the middle of the park compelled United to splash a mind-boggling £89m. Juventus made a sizable profit from the deal as they signed the midfielder for a mere £1.5m in 2012.
He said, “He (Mourinho) told me not to listen to anybody, just be focused on the pitch and enjoy yourself. That is all I am doing.
“He talked to me. He made me very comfortable and confident.
“He said ‘you know how to play, do what you want’. He let me free on the pitch.
“He told me just to enjoy myself. That is it. That is all I need to hear from the manager.”
