Manchester United have reportedly agreed a fee with Lyon for Memphis Depay. Lyon will reportedly pay £16m initially which could rise to £21.7m after add-ons.
There will be a buyback option in the contract. That means United will have the first choice option to buy him back should he prove to be a success in France. The Red Devils will also have a percentage of the fee if Lyon chooses to sell him in future to other clubs.
Depay arrived at United for around £25m last year when Louis van Gaal was in charge. He was the top scorer for PSV in the 2014-15 season and was the main reason behind their title triumph that season.
The winger has failed to justify his price tag since his arrival from the Dutch club. He has made just one start under Jose Mourinho this season. Touted as the next Cristiano Ronaldo, he has been linked with a host of clubs including Everton and AS Roma.
