Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet has made it clear that he doesn’t want to play the second fiddle to Loris Karius.
Jurgen Klopp brought Karius from Mainz in this summer as he wants to inject some fresh face in the squad. Karius made a good start in the Premier League but his errors in successive matches compelled Klopp to bring back Mignolet to the starting lineup.
The Belgian shot stopper switched his allegiance to Liverpool from Sunderland in 2013. Since then he has been the number one choice for the Merseyside club until the arrival of Karius.
However, Mignolet is determined to keep his place in the first eleven at any cost.
The 28 year old sad, “I’ve said all along I don’t want to be a number two goalkeeper.
“I’m 28 years old and I want to play week in, week out.”
