Liverpool are reportedly planning an offer for Benfica forward Raul Jimenez. The 25-year-old is valued at around £22m and has had a good spell in Portugal after his move from Atletico Madrid.
Jürgen Klopp currently has Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge as the attacking options but both players have been struggling to nail a permanent spot in the starting lineup. The German gaffer has been relying on Roberto Firmino as he has preferred not to use a prolific striker upfront.
The Mexican could have joined the Premier League earlier as he was linked with West Ham United earlier. Benfica signed him from Atletico Madrid last season and he went on to help the club to win the Portuguese League in his maiden season.
The Reds have been in tremendous form this season having scored 48 goals already. With clouds hovering over Sturridge’s future, Klopp wants to add reinforcements as the Reds have a busy schedule with League Cup and FA Cup looming ahead.
