Steven Gerrard has advised Daniel Sturridge to stay at Liverpool if he wants to improve.
Liverpool defeated Plymouth 1-0 in the FA Cup with Lucas Leiva scored the only goal. Sturridge endured a poor evening and had to be substituted after 76 minutes of play. Sturridge has started only five Premier League matches this season after suffering a couple of injuries. Klopp had been playing with a 4-3-3 formation with Roberto Firmino playing as the false nine.
Sturridge was pretty awful against Southampton in the EFL Cup and didn’t feature against Manchester United.
Gerrard said, “He’s capable of world-class moments and performances and I think Liverpool are on the verge of something really big under this manager,
“Maybe he is frustrated from week to week but there’s a great chance he could get silverware with Liverpool in the near future. If I were him I’d be patient. I think there’s good things on the horizon.
“Only he knows whether he’s happy, whether he’s frustrated or whether he wants to go somewhere else and challenge himself.”
