Steven Gerrard is confident that Liverpool will shrug off their bad form and the current run is just a bad patch.
The Reds have had a string of losses in the New Year. They have now lost three matches in 2017. Shane Long scored for Southampton in the stoppage time to inflict their third defeat in a month. Earlier the Reds suffered hiccups in their Premier League campaign as bottom placed Swansea defeated them 3-2.
Gerrard, who spent a nearly 17 years with the club, was recently appointed the Academy coach of them. However, the ex-Liverpool captain is sure that the Reds will get back to their old form.
“I hope it’s just a blip. I’ve experienced it myself and blips are difficult to play your way out of, but I believe we’ve got the talent and personnel to do it.
“We’ve been one of the most exciting teams to watch [during Klopp’s time in charge].
“There’s a bit of a sticky patch the past three or four weeks.
“But I’m absolutely delighted he’s our manager.”
