Jose Mourinho has assured that Marcus Rashford is a vital part of his plans. The English teenager hasn’t featured since the 2-2 draw with West Ham United. He did make a couple of substitute appearances this season but has started in only eight matches.
Jose Mourinho so far has preferred Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front and Anthony Martial on the left flank.
Rashford broke onto the scene last season as Luis Van Gaal was forced to introduce him as United were ravaged by injuries. Rashford went on to score 12 goals with a brace against Arsenal on his Premier League debut.
The 19-year-old appeared to be a target for West Ham United but later manager Slaven Bilic admitted that they are not interested in the teenager.
Mourinho said, “The biggest trust I give him is when I told you that I don’t want another striker. I don’t want one. Why? Because I have Rashford.
“He’s always there. He’s always selected, he’s on the team, he’s on the bench when he doesn’t start. He comes on and he has different kinds of experiences.
“What happened to him last season was really fast and was a consequence of a situation that we are not having this season.
“He’s fine. He’s going in the right direction. He’s a good kid, a good professional with the right mentality.
“He’s always ready to learn and improve. This kid is going in the right direction.”
