Benfica right-back Nelson Semedo has ruled out a move to Manchester United. United are believed to be in the pursuit of the right back and are willing to trigger the Portuguese’s £38m release clause.
Jose Mourinho is very keen to bolster his right side of the defence despite the fact that Antonio Valencia has been excellent in this season and has recently been awarded a new deal for his performance.
Matteo Darmian has played the last couple of match as a left back and could leave the club in January.
Semedo has appeared 15 times in this season for Benfica. He has one goal and three assists in his tally and his excellent form also helped him to earn a call-up to the National team.
He said, “They can be calm and you can rest easy.
“I’m completely focused on Benfica and I hope to continue here for many years to come.
“I’m helping the club to achieve its objectives.”
