Sergio Romero has rejected a chance to move to Boca Juniors, a club of his native country.
Romero arrived at United from Sampdoria in the summer of 2015. Former manager Louis Van Gaal brought the player to provide some depth in the goalkeeping section.
But the goalkeeper has only made 15 appearances since his arrival putting a question on his future with the Red Devils.
David De Gea has been the obvious choice for United at the goal. The Spaniard has been a constant performer for United since his arrival from Atletico Madrid.
Jose Mourinho recently recalled Joel Pereira from his loan spell at Belenenses after the Red Devils loaned out Sam Johnstone to Championship side Aston Villa.
Romero has made four Premier League and five Europa League appearances this season.
The Argentine international reportedly had a chat with Boca Juniors coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto over a potential transfer but conveyed that he is happy at Old Trafford.
