Sam Allardyce proved his credentials of being one of the best survivalists when he managed to keep Sunderland safe and sound last season, coming to the rescue and saving the blushes of the Black Cats. He falls in a category of managers who always tend to inject a sense of stability and assurance at the onset and delivers eventually with the side he moulds. More than anything else, his managerial sense does yield decent results more often than not.
Having the last laugh with Crystal Palace this reason by remaining averse to the dropout zone is the bare necessity which Big Sam must attend to. The Eagles have had a horrible start under the tutelage of Alan Pardew, and it has to be underlined that Allardyce didn’t have the privilege of inheriting a remarkable side. Crystal Palace are timorously uncertain of their whereabouts and if there is anyone who could really save their grace, it is their manager who has been through it all time and again.
Considering that strengthening the side from the middle of the park holds paramount importance in the books of the former England manager, he has been reportedly keeping a keen eye on Olympiakos midfielder Luka Milivojevic and desires to bring him to the Selhurst Park before the ongoing transfer window comes to a conclusion. With a transfer fee of around £10 million with add-ons, should Crystal Palace fans not be sceptical about a potential signing which their gaffer wants to lure into his ranks?
Allardyce is in a desperate need to bolster his midfield and with the lack of transfer activities (well, failure to lay hands on their targets), the 62-year-old has been reduced to a frustrated man. A reunion with Sunderland’s midfielder Yann M’Vila is apparently looking doubtful too, as a result of which he has diverted his attention to Milivojevic. Nonetheless, the 25-year-old is more than a decent target to be pounced upon by the Eagles.
Milivojevic is an excellent passer of the ball, knits the midfield together, knows how to position himself and combines physical strengths with sheer professionalism and technical brain.
Although the Serbian international is much more inclined towards catering to the defensive needs of his side, that doesn’t mean he refrains from surging forward and aiming for goals. Frankly speaking, considering the situation the Eagles find themselves in at the moment, they mustn’t hesitate in signing someone experienced like Milivojevic and who could bring something different into their setup.
