Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois has issued a warning to Liverpool and Arsenal before facing them in successive matches.
The men in Blue have kept their top spot intact and are eight points clear of second-placed Arsenal. Diego Costa and Gary Cahill were on target as Chelsea comfortably defeated a struggling Hull City 2-0 in their last match. Barring a defeat against Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea have been scintillating, having won their last 15 matches out of 16.
Courtois has acted as a pillar in the Chelsea goal as the Belgian has only let in 15 goals which is the least by any keeper in the English top flight this season. However, any hiccups in the next two matches would deal a severe blow to Chelsea’s title hopes.
The 24-year-old said, “We knew it would be hard, they’ve changed their manager and it’s harder for other teams to beat them as well.
“Manchester United found it tough against them, they won against Bournemouth and they came with a plan so it wasn’t easy. I don’t think we played our best game but we are pleased to get the three points.
“We wanted to win more games after the Tottenham result, and before we play Liverpool and Arsenal. Now we have a big gap, hopefully we can win against them and put ourselves further away.”
