In a shocking revelation Diego Costa has claimed that he was thinking of leaving Chelsea earlier. The 28-year-old is currently having a dream run in the Premier League. The Spaniard scored his 14th goal against Stoke City as Chelsea defeated the Potters 4-2 to registered their 13th consecutive League win.
Chelsea finished in a dismal 10th position last season which also saw Jose Mourinho sacked by in the mid-season.
Recently, Oscar was sold to Shanghai SIPG by the West Londoners and reports were stating that the Blues forward is reportedly a target for Chinese club Tianjin Quanjian. Also after the last season, Costa expressed his interest in joining his previous club Atletico Madrid.
Costa said, “Yes, yes. I was about to leave.
“I was about to… but, well, I’m happy here as well and that’s that.
“I had the possibility to go to Atletico, because of a few things — the family, the life I have there… but not because of Chelsea, because, here, there’s a lot of love with the supporters, with the people, so I’m very happy. I’m very content.
“There was one thing I wanted to change for family reasons but it wasn’t to be, and I continue happy here.
“It was important too that the manager, from the very first minute, said he counted on me.”
