Chelsea are reportedly trying a last minute attempt to sign Andrea Belotti from Torino. The Italians international has a £86m release clause in his contract.
For long Antonio Conte has been trying to add a significant name to his attacking options. He did bring Michy Batshuayai in the summer but hasn’t used him much so far. Belotti’s emergence in the Serie A this season has attracted a lot of interests from the London club. The 23-year-old has scored 14 goals in 19 league appearances for Torino this season.
Chelsea reportedly have sent technical director Michael Emenalo to clinch a deal for the player. The Italian, who has three goals in five games for the Azzurri, recently extended his stay with the club till 2021. But Chelsea are confident of a deal and are trying to negotiate a price.
Diego Costa’s future seems to be looming darker since the Spaniard has been involved in a scuffle with Conte. If Chelsea does succeed in bringing Belotti to Stamford Bridge, it would be a huge boost to their Premier League title challenge.
