Antonio Conte has insisted that he will do the necessary things to strengthen Chelsea’s squad in the January transfer window. The Blues have been linked with a host of players, with the latest being Michail Antonio.
Chelsea made a great start to their Premier League campaign having won 13 matches on a trot before losing 2-0 at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur. They are sitting quite comfortably at the top of the table with a five-point gap over second-placed Liverpool.
Swansea frontman Fernando Llorente has been linked with the West Londoners. Llorente had the chance to work with him during his stint at Juventus and wants to bring the Spaniard to bolster his attacking options. The Italian recently called Nathan Ake back from his loan spell from Bournemouth is also considering a move for Koln left back Jonas Hector.
The Chelsea boss said, “In this window it’s very difficult to find great players but we are seeing if we are able to find the opportunity to improve this team.
“We will continue with these players, Ake is coming back and Kenedy and Musonda are working with us. It’s important for me to evaluate this profile and make the best decision.
“We are at the top of the table with this squad and I’m grateful to my players for this. If we find the opportunity to improve the squad, we will do it, but I’m very happy to work with this group of players.”
