Celtic are running away with the league title in Scotland, and intriguingly, there is apparently no side stopping them from bagging the bragging rights as far as the Scottish Premiership is concerned. Under the tutelage of Brendan Rodgers, the Bhoys are looking destined for far greater purposes, maybe something much more lucrative and galvanising than even a domestic treble. There is a feeling that this Celtic side are destined for great things, great achievements and great acknowledgements from the football fraternity in the near future.
Arguably, the Scottish outfit are monitoring their prospects in elusive European outings. Rodgers is building a team composed of flamboyance, rigidity, mettle and dynamism to ensure that the remaining loopholes in his brigade are curtailed or marginalised.
Now that the business with respect to the league is all about the completion of remaining formalities, the ongoing winter transfer window is a massive opportunity for him to bag a few signing and make them get acclimatised with how the things pan out under him. Apparently, Falkirk FC’s sensational youngster in the shape of Tony Gallacher has been put under the radar by the Hoops.
The 17-year-old has been under the microscope of a lot of European heavyweights, including the likes of FC Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester United. He has accumulated seven first-team opportunities under his belt so far, and despite this short span of time has turned the limelight on himself.
Glimpses of the magnificence of this promising left-back could be derived from his two assists from four appearances in the Scottish Championship. There is a paramount urgency of having a modern day full-back in the ranks of any side, and Gallacher has shown that he ticks many of the boxes as far as being a commendable left-back is concerned.
Falkirk have imposed a come-get-him fee of £750,000 on the Scot who appears to be a piece for the future. Arguably, Celtic do need a young lad like Gallacher in their ranks: Emilio Izaguirre is not going to get better with his age and Kieran Tierney is also under the wish-list of some of the best teams in the continent.
Rodgers should aim to look beyond these two full-backs he presently has in his squad and it would not be foolish from him to get this talented and promising youngster for a cost which is quite marginal in the current process of development of a business-oriented approach to the game.
