Davies (8/10)- Now, how many would have expected him to score? His placement of the header was brilliant, in the far corner.
Other than that, he kept his position solid and went with the flow. A perfect display.
Dier (7.5/10)- He got to play in his favourite position, the midfield. And he absolutely relished it.
Won some tackles that were beautiful to watch and kept his tempo throughout the game. Had a great impact on the game.
Winks (8.5/10)- A man of the match performance by the midfielder. He kept the things going and if Dele Alli is an already big prospect, he is definitely the next big one.
Sissoko (6.5/10)- He didn’t have the best of games, quite surprisingly. After his string of good performance, he was expected to have a fire right away.
Anyway, he had the all-important cross for Son’s goal that sealed the game.
Son (8/10)- He was tremendously agile and Villa defenders had a really hard time tackling him. Had a brilliant finishing touch for the second goal, which broke Villa’s spirit.
Janssen (5.5/10)- Yet another disappointing game for the striker. He just doesn’t get into the groove and one will surely wonder just how much more time will Pochettino give him.
Alli (7.5/10)- It was his introduction that helped Spurs to break the deadlock. He brought a sudden urgency at the heart of their attack and had a tremendous impact.
N’Koudou (7/10)- Provided the all-important assist for Ben Davies’ first goal and kept things running.
