Arsenal player Granit Xhaka might get into further trouble following an accusation. He reportedly racially abused a worker at Heathrow airport.
The incident occurred when the Arsenal midfielder reached the airport to see off a friend. The altercation started when his friend was denied an entry for being late.
It was barely more than 24 hours after he got his marching orders from the referee against Burnley. Xhaka was not taken into custody but had been questioned by the police.
A Metropolitan Police statement, according to the Telegraph, reads as follows: “Police were called at 19:29hrs on Monday, 23 January following an allegation that a member of staff had been racially abused at Heathrow Airport, Terminal Five.
“The allegation was made by a third party. Officers attended and spoke with a man in his 20s. He was not arrested. He voluntarily attended a west London police station where he was interviewed under caution. Enquires continue.”
