Thierry Henry thinks that Arsene Wenger should start Alex Iwobi ahead of Mesut Ozil. Iwobi replaced Ozil in the Gunners 2-0 win over Crystal palace.
Wenger preferred to start Iwobi in his favourite place just behind the striker. Although Wenger has mostly used the player on the left flank and the Nigerian has fared pretty well, it seems pretty obvious that the No. 10 position is Iwobi’s best position on the field.
The Nigerian scored the second goal of his team after Giroud scored the opener with a superb scorpion kick in the last home match.
With Alexis Sanchez shifted to a more centrally role the 20-year-old has made the left flank on his own. He has so far featured in 15 matches with 11 starts. Henry said that Iwobi has the quality to shine in that position.
“Iwobi is better off in the middle for Arsenal when they come up against teams who are defensively minded like we saw against Crystal Palace.
“Wenger must have seen it and hopefully he will be picked ahead of Ozil in such games. He moves the ball quicker and faster leaving opposition defenders in their wake. He belongs in the middle.”
