Olivier Giroud is hopeful that Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez will be signing new contracts in coming days. Giroud himself signed a new contract a few days ago.
Ozil and Sanchez have been trying to negotiate a new contract. Both the players have been demanding exorbitant pay hikes but the club is not willing to meet their demands.
Giroud, who had been playing the second fiddle this season to Sanchez, recently made his first start in the Premier League. The French international has scored nine goals in 19 appearances this season in all competitions.
The 30-year-old said, “Obviously we hope they’re going to do the same but it’s up to the player
“I really wanted to sign another contract and I don’t know what they want, but hopefully they will do it soon.”
On being asked about his own contract renewal the forward replied, “I wanted to carry on the adventure,
“I’m very glad to sign a new contract.
“It’s been a few months that we’ve been talking about it; I’m happy it’s happened. I feel good in this Arsenal family and I want to win some more trophies.”
