Putting all rumours aside Antonio Conte has insisted that Thibaut Courtois is not for sale. Real Madrid are expected to launch a bid for the Belgian in the next summer. The Spanish giants saw their transfer ban reduced to one season only and are allowed to sign any player after this season.
Courtois has emerged as a key figure in Antonio Conte’s plan as the Blues went on to win 12 consecutive matches in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old reportedly told his close ones that he wanted to return to Madrid with Atletico Madrid being an option. The keeper spent three seasons with Atletico Madrid on loan before being called up by his club.
Conte said, “It is not important to clarify the situation about Thibaut.
“He is for me one of the best, if not the best goalkeeper in the world. He is working very well and he is a fantastic goalkeeper.
“He stays with us and this is the most important thing. The other situation is only speculation.
“This season he’s playing very well, and you can see that he’s not only very good with his hands, but also with his feet.
“Yes, I think he’s a complete goalkeeper. He’s a model goalkeeper.”
