With the January window in full swing, clubs in Europe have started their bi-yearly evaluation and the molecular dissections of their teams to fathom whether to add to their squads or to offload players who are not suited for the execution of their targets.
And with a number of Premier League clubs finding themselves in positions where they would need to strengthen to either carry on their imperious form or the need to sign players to resurrect their dwindling campaign, there will understandably be a lot of lateral movement between clubs.
A relatively new name which has been doing the rounds in the Premier League is that of Championship striker, Scott Hogan. Reportedly a number of clubs are linked with the 24-year old and Brentford are said to be prepared to sell if the right offer comes along.
Let us take a look at 3 Premier League clubs which would suit him-
WEST HAM UNITED
Slaven Bilic has probably learnt the pitfalls of having a foreign player come into the squad and fail to adjust to the insane demands of the Premier League with Zaza and Calleri being the players in question. And the hard manner in which he learnt the lesson will probably see him look closer to find a solution up front.
Carroll’s iffy injury record and Ayew not being an out and out striker sees them continue on their quest to find a striker who can slot in when required.
Hogan can complement Carroll up front and can also play as a lone striker. Not the most obvious option when you come to think of it but something Bilic can well look at.
CRYSTAL PALACE
There have been reports of Christian Benteke moving out of the club with a number of suitors in Europe and China interested in him. Palace have not quite gelled together especially up front and have scored a meagre 2 goals in 4 matches under their new manager.
Allardyce might think of a reshuffle up top or he can add Hogan to the team to mix things up a bit. He might not be the tallest but is physical enough to take the brunt of the League.
SUNDERLAND
The club who need players the most right now. Moyes has been hit with an avalanche of injuries and will probably consider himself the most unfortunate manager in the League right now!
With their precarious position not looking like improving anytime soon, there have been clubs linked with their prized assets and the fact that they have to sell in order to buy might tempt Moyes to let go of someone like a Van Aanholt to invest up front where they are woefully short on numbers and quality.
