Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa is a player who is keen to move on in January as per various reports. The 30-year old has become increasingly frustrated with his lack of game time this season where he hasn’t yet made a start. All his 13 appearances were as a substitute.
Last season, Ulloa proved to be a super sub with his vital goals, helping the Foxes claim an unprecedented title triumph. 6 goals and 2 assists last year and 11 goals with 3 assists the year before is proof enough that the Argentinian is a player capable of doing his job at the top level. This is exactly what the striker thinks too.
He recently remarked, “I want to play always. If I don’t have minutes here I need to look for another team. It is difficult for me, the decision, I am waiting for the window and waiting for the team and waiting for the manager. I want to speak to him and after we’ll make a decision for the club, for the team and for me also. I have a contract here and I need to think a lot about my situation and after that we need to make the decision together.”
With the player determined to leave, let’s a take a look at the clubs in the Premier League he can join in the winter.
Swansea City
The Swans are at the bottom of the league currently with some serious need for reinforcements in January. They are in need of a frontman who can contribute regularly and the Argentinian is the kind of player who would suit their needs perfectly. With more game time available, Ulloa can be a vital signing for Bob Bradley.
Hull City
Another club where Ulloa would be greatly welcome. The Tigers’ struggles in front of the goal are pretty clear by now as there is a desperate need for a striker who can score the goals as well as contribute to the overall game.
Having played at Leicester, Ulloa is pretty well versed with the difficulties of a team going through a relegation battle as well as turning the tables on strong oppositions. The 30-year old would be a fantastic signing at the KCOM Stadium.
West Brom
The Baggies are on the lookout for a striker in the winter and a move to the midlands can be on the cards for the Leicester man. Albion are doing pretty well in the Premier league with 20 points from their 14 games making them sit high in the table.
Having a striker of the experience of Ulloa would be a great bonus for West Brom. The Argentinian is also the kind of player Tony Pulis likes upfront, strong in the air, good in holding the ball up and in his link up play. Additionally, with his reputation of a strong defensive contribution, the striker in many ways looks tailor made for Pulis and West Brom. More importantly, he’d reduce the workload of Rondon’s shoulders.
