Jordan Henderson has claimed that the return of Daniel Sturridge will be a huge boost for them. Liverpool have a number of tough fixtures ahead as they have successive matches against Stoke City and Manchester City.
Sturridge made his comeback after almost a month and had an immediate impact as he was the creator of Sadio Mane’s winner against Everton.
Sturridge was not supposed to return against Everton but he made himself available after some quick training seasons and later went on to help Mane with the goal. Despite being linked with a number of clubs and Divock Origi scoring goals, Sturridge has maintained his calmness and has been a super sub for the Reds whenever the team needed him.
Henderson revealed, “Both him and Emre [Can] coming on — two brilliant players coming back from injury — shows the squad depth. I thought they were brilliant when they came on.
“I am sure the Everton players looking at those two coming on wouldn’t have enjoyed that last 15 minutes. They wouldn’t have liked seeing those two come on.
“Daniel came up with a bit of magic for the goal and he is a huge player for us.”
