Former Manchester United striker Henrik Larsson thinks Victor Lindelof would be a hit at Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho is all set to make his first signing of the winter as Manchester United are approaching towards a conclusion regarding a move for Benfica defender Victor Lindelof. The Swedish international is expected to join the Red Devils in a £38m deal next month.
Lindelof would be a replacement of Eric Bailly who will be leaving in January to take part in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Larson made just seven appearances for the Red Devils in 2006-07 season. Lindelof was also praised by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the lanky Swede had asked the club officials to sign the teenager earlier.
Larsson said, “He is already playing at a high level, so he’s prepared for a club like Manchester United.
“He is at a club like Benfica and he is also a first choice for Sweden.
“[Swedes] are a very adaptable people, whether in football or any other activity.
“I think the Swedes are very prepared as a people to take on any kind of challenge and it will not be difficult for Lindelof to adapt to the style of English football.
“Lindelof has the ability to do more than one position on the team, which is great, and in all of them at a very high level. Two years ago he was a name that came as a target for my team and we tried to see if he would could get him but unfortunately we could not.”
