Real Madrid defender Pepe could be heading to Premier League next season. The defender’s contract is expiring at the end of the season and he hasn’t been offered a new one.
The 33-year-old is one of the long-standing players to have played for the La Liga giants. He moved from Porto in 2007 and since then remains an inevitable part of the Madrid backline. He was earlier linked with Chelsea with Antonio Conte is believed to be a keen admirer of the Portuguese. Having failed to land any big names in the summer the Italian gaffer is desperate to strengthen his defence and Pepe could be the solution.
The defender had a superb last season as he won the Champions League alongside the Euros with Portugal.
Pepe has been locked in a contract negotiations as he has been demanding a two-year contract as he wants to finish his career at the Santiago Bernabeu but Madrid are ready to hand him only a one-year extension.
