Everton notched up two important wins in 3 games as they comfortably dispatched a struggling Leicester City side 2-0 at the King Power Stadium and bounced back up after an unfortunate 0-1 loss against Liverpool.
Ronald Koeman came in with lots of expectations and the fact that he was supposedly given the green light to make the desired signings made the fans more expectant.
There haven’t been any major alarms till now and the fact that Romelu Lukaku got back on the scoresheet against the Foxes will be a reason to rejoice after the big Belgian’s scoring reserves had run dry for quite some time.
There will likely be some additions in January in light of the injury to Yannick Bolasie. With the team looking fairly well-settled, an encouraging 2nd half of the season is on the cards for the Goodison Park outfit.
Currently, in the 7th spot, they might be overtaken by a Southampton outfit who are scheduled to play Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow. While the chances of that happening are less, Everton will be minding their own business and gearing up for their Friday night clash against Bottom of the table, Hull City.
With the matches coming thick and fast, Ronald Koeman might look to revert to a 4-2-3-1 formation and rotate his squad slightly.
PREDICTED EVERTON XI VS HULL CITY (4-2-3-1)
DEFENCE
Joel Robles might keep his place after earning a clean sheet. Anyways, it might not be the best decision to rush Stekelenburg with a flurry of games coming up. Seamus Coleman might be rested with a home match against Southampton coming up. Mason Holgate will then get another opportunity to impress. Ashley Williams is likely to start at centre-back with one of Jagielka or Funes Mori partnering him. Baines will be at left-back and will have to deal with the threat of Robert Snodgrass, who is Hull’s only potent attacking player by the looks of it.
MIDFIELD
The double pivot might consist of Gareth Barry and Idrissa Gueye. McCarthy is expected to miss a chunk of the games and Cleverly also offers an alternative. Ross Barkley can start after being on the bench in the last match.
ATTACK
Gerard Deulofeu might earn a rare start on the right flank with Kevin Mirallas most likely keeping his place after getting on the scoresheet against the Foxes. Romelu Lukaku will be leading the line and will look to get on the scoresheet.
