Burnley had a stormy start to the game against Bournemouth that saw the Cherries getting outpaced. The win now places Clarets at the thirteenth position in the league table and considering the home record of their next opponent, Dyche might fancy another thunderous success.
Burnley visits West Ham in the midweek, who have collected just 8 points from 7 home games this season so far and it seems like it will take longer than expected to get them settled in their new stadium. However, Burnley have never won a Premier League match in London and the Clarets will definitely have a psychological barrier to overcome.
Dyche played a 4-5-1 at the weekend, which has been very effective at home and the English manager is likely to stick with that against the Hammers.
Defence
Heaton will take his position between the sticks. Although he was hardly called to act against Bournemouth after returning from an injury, an Adam Smith free kick that was deflected on its way saw a brilliant save from the keeper.
The left-back position should be taken by the Irish defender Ward. Apart from a bit of a scramble, he looked quite solid for his first game of the season. The other flank is expected to be taken by Lowton. He replaced Flanagan and had his finest display of the season threatening in attack all game against Cherries.
The central defensive duo will be Ben Mee and William Keane. They did not concede a single foul in the previous game, which shows their composure at the back. The in-demanded centre-back, Keane, has been on his best form recently and Dyche will rely highly on him.
Midfield
Marney will start in the anchor position. His form has been on and off, but whenever he is active, he seems to be the driving force for the team. The left-flank will be taken by Boyd. He looked lethal against Bournemouth and his sense of positioning has been brilliant. The other flank will be taken by Arfield.
The two creative midfielders should be Jeff Hendrick and Steven Defour. Hendrick opened the scoresheet against Cherries with an absolute stunner. He is slowly showing what he’s worth. The confidence boost that wonder-strike provided carried him through his best performance for Burnley. Defour was subbed off for a tactical change in the later half, but he looked disciplined.
Attack
Vokes will once again take his position as the centre forward. Although the striker is having a bit of a goal drought, he often helps in the build-up and is likely to start again.
