Midfield
The flanks will be taken by Matt Ritchie and Yoan Gouffran. Ritchie’s ability to burst with the pace at every little space he gets is quite phenomenal, but his impact was missing in the last match. He will hope to make up for that against Burton.
Gouffran got yet another assist to add this tally this season. The brilliant winger is an example of disciplined and technical football.
The central midfield duo of Isaac Hayden and Jonjo Shelvey have been quite effective for the forwards and Benitez would want to keep it that way.
A man of the match performance by the former Arsenal man last match, Hayden is slowly becoming an important player for Benitez. Shelvey has been the architect for Newcastle from day one this season.
Attack
Mo Diame should start as the number 10. He was brilliant against his former club in the midweek and the way he opened the scoresheet with an individual effort shows how good a player he is.
Mitrovic should start as the striker as Benitez is likely to give Gayle rest after two back to back games in four days.
