Rangers lost their second place in the Scottish Premiership table after a 2-0 loss against Hearts on Wednesday night and have another crunch game on their hands this Saturday. They will host Aberdeen on Saturday at Ibrox in what will their 16th game of the season. The Gers are sitting third in the table with 26 points from 15 games. Celtic are 8 points clear of them and second-placed Hearts leapfrogged the Gers despite playing three games fewer. The gap is ever increasing and against Aberdeen, there is a big chance that Rangers will drop points.
Rangers have performed decently this season but there is no sense of consistency in their game. Before their loss to Hearts, they were five games unbeaten in the Premiership but have had too many draws this campaign.
The two sides have met 29 times in the Premiership till date and Rangers have won 16 out of those 29 games. Aberdeen have won 5 times while 8 games ended in stalemates. They met each other once already this season and the Dons won 2-1.
Here is the predicted Rangers lineup against Aberdeen.
Defence
Wes Foderingham should keep his place under the bar with ease ahead of veteran Matt Gilks. James Tavernier will start at right-back and will be looking to cause menace with his attacking forays. Skipper Lee Wallace will keep his place at left-back.
We expect Danny Wilson to keep his place at the heart of the defence. Rob Kiernan could partner Wilson at the back. Rangers haven’t been all that bad defensively this season but have to be at their best to stop Aberdeen.
