Carrick has been exceptional sitting just in front of the defence and ticking the play over, giving the likes of Pogba and Herrera the freedom to express themselves.

With the games coming thick and fast, Mourinho might freshen up his attack with Henrikh Mkhitaryan coming in place of Juan Mata and Martial replacing Lingard on the right.
