2016 has been a memorable year for Celtic fans and they have the opportunity to bid a goodbye to it in the best possible fashion. On New Year’s Eve, we have the biggest game in Scottish football when they take on Rangers in the famous Old Firm Derby. The two Glasgow clubs share a more than century-old rivalry between them.
Celtic hold a 16-point advantage at the top of the Premiership table heading into the game with a game in hand and it is highly unlikely that Rangers can make up such a monumental gap. However, Celtic 23-game unbeaten record under Rodgers since his arrival in the summer is at stake and Rangers will be keen to come up with an upset on Saturday.
The two clubs have played each other twice this season and both times, Celtic won quite convincingly. At Parkhead in the Premiership, the game finished 5-1 in Celtic’s way while Rangers lost 1-0 in the semi-final of the League Cup.
Celtic are clearly the favourites for the game but Rodgers will certainly not allow any kind of complacency from his boys.

Defence
Craig Gordon will keep his place under the bar. The Scot will be looking to keep another clean sheet before the winter break. Mikael Lustig will keep his place at right-back.
Erik Sviatchenko and Jozo Simunovic are by far the best central defensive partnership at Parkhead right now and Rodgers is likely to keep his faith in them against Rangers. At left-back, we expect Emilio Izaguirre to keep his place.
