Aston Villa and Norwich City were both in the Premier League last time out when the two locked horns. Both were relegated from the Premier League last season and looking at how inconsistent they have been in the championship, they are unlikely to play in the Premier League next season. Tuesday night sees a huge game at Carrow Road as Norwich City take on Aston Villa. The Canaries come into this clash two points above their opponents but they’re really struggling for form.
Aston Villa had a terrible start to the campaign but things have improved dramatically in recent weeks under Steve Bruce. The former Hull City boss has guided the Villans up to thirteenth and they could close to the top six should results go for them.
After suffering relegation back in May, Norwich City were expected to make an instant return to the Premier League. Alex Neil’s men kicked off the new campaign in fantastic form and showed no hangover, but their form has really tailed off recently.
We have to wait and see if villa can take advantage of that and punish the Canaries. Here is the predicted Aston Villa lineup against Norwich City.
Defence
Promising young keeper Pierluigi Gollini is likely to start under the bar. The chemistry between Nathan Baker and James Chester has worked wonders for the Midlands side but with Baker out with a groin injury, Tommy Elphick will continue at the heart of the defence alongside Chester.
Alan Hutton and Jordan Amavi are likely to start in the two full-back positions. Even though Norwich’s recent form has been poor, they have serious quality in their attack and Villa must be wary of that.
Midfield
Mile Jedinak is clearly an influential member of the side with the steel he brings to midfield. The Aussie’s defensive discipline and decent passing ability make him a key player at Villa Park. Young Gary Gardner is likely to partner the Aussie in midfield.
Gardner brings the much-needed dynamism in midfield which Westwood is not capable of offering and that is why we expect Gardner to keep his place. Youngster Jack Grealish will start in the number ten role.
Attack
Jonathan Kodija is enjoying a pretty good run of form this season and should keep his place up front. Jordan Ayew will keep his place on the left. Albert Adomah could start on the right flank and will be looking to keep impressing.
