Midfield
James Rodriguez was once again brilliant in the attacking midfield laying off a perfect cross for Benzema who buried his header. Zidane, however, has decided to bench him in the league games often. It will be difficult to ignore him for long, though.
Luka Modric had a quiet game against Dortmund after a blistering display against Barcelona. He is expected to take the central attacking midfield role alongside Kovacic.
The holding midfield position will be once again taken by Casemiro. The Brazilian has been phenomenal in the absence of Kroos and will be difficult to bench when the German returns.
Attack
After his clinical brace against Dortmund, Benzema will surely start up front. Real were facing a big crisis in the absence of Alvaro Morata, but with the Spaniard featuring from the bench against Dortmund, Zidane now has an added option up his sleeve.
While the club’s top goal scorer this season Cristiano Ronaldo will take the left flank, the boss seems to have found a safe replacement for Gareth Bale in Lucas Vazquez at the moment.
