Chelsea will look to extend their winning streak further and cement their position at the top of the league table when they face West Bromwich Albion this Sunday. Although the Baggies are in a good run winning 3 of their last 4 matches, they might not be any bout for the Blue brigade, who have swept aside Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City in their last two games.
Chelsea’s home record against Albion is also quite decent. They have not lost a single match in their last 10 league games at home against them. It also seems that they are pretty comfortable scoring against Albion too, as they have done in each of their last 21 home league games.
Chelsea are surely the favourites for the game although with Arsenal playing on Saturday, the Blues might go into the game second in the table.
Defence
Despite trailing by one goal in their last two games, the Blues have successfully came from behind to win them. Conte will expect his backline to be more stringent while absorbing the initial pressure in the opening quarter of the game.
We expect him to stick to his reliable three at the back this time too. Cesar Azpilicueta, especially, might be an important player in this fixture as he was last season scoring in both the fixtures.
Gary Cahill will be hoping not to repeat last game’s defensive blunder (own goal) this time. David Luiz was really lucky to come out unscathed from that horrific Aguero challenge as he is the most important piece of the puzzle for Conte’s three-man defence. He will start at the centre.
