Yaya Toure has expressed that he wants to make Manchester City bigger than Manchester United.
The midfielder arrived from Barcelona in 2010 and has been regular in the Manchester City lineup until the arrival of Pep Guardiola. The Spaniard gaffer blocked the Ivorian from playing after his agent accused him of mishandling his client. Pep handed him his first start against Crystal Palace and the midfielder returned the favour by scoring a brace.
Toure’s contract is set to expire at the end of this season but he hasn’t been offered a contract till now. Toure said that his dream is to take City to a newer level that no one could have imagined, “When I signed for City, I came to this club to make history. I want this club to change, I want this club to be bigger than United. I know it’s going to be a lot of work, but that’s my dream.
“I have been lucky to play at big clubs — Barcelona, Olympiakos — those teams were always used to being champions. But City, it was something different, something changing and I am happy now.
“I want to make something very important. I already won two Premier League titles and I want more than that, another new story. What we are seeing is the Premier League is so tough, this year it’s going to be tougher than any other years.”
