Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino revealed that they needed a big win to get their confidence back after their 2-1 defeat to Chelsea. Braces from Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen and a strike from Son Heung-min helped them blanking Swansea City 5-0.
Chelsea derailed Spurs’ 12-game unbeaten run in the last match. Until the last game, the North Londoners were the only unbeaten team in the Premier League and were amongst the likes of Real Madrid, Leipzig and Hoffenheim who share the record.
Pochettino was happy after the result, “I think we fully deserved the result We dominated and played well. They didn’t shoot and they didn’t create chances.
“It was a very good performance. I’m happy and we needed a big victory after Chelsea
“I don’t believe it was the best [performance of the season] – against [Manchester] City we were better. It’s important to be close to the top.”
Tottenham are right now sitting in the fifth place with 27 points.
