Henrikh Mkhitaryan has claimed that his goal against Sunderland is the best goal till now in his career.
Mkhitaryan didn’t make a start against Sunderland as Jose Mourinho opted for Juan Mata. He replaced Jesse Lingard at the stroke of the 62nd minutes and then produced a little bit of magic four minutes from the end. The Armenian scored a back heel ‘scorpion kick’ from Ibra’s cross. This was his second goal after he scored the winner against Tottenham Hotspur.
United defeated Sunderland 3-1 to claim their fourth successive victory this season. Daley Blind opened the scoring with a great finish from inside the box. Zlatan and Mkhitaryan then scored the second and third goal respectively to give a huge boost to their Premier League campaign.
Mkhitaryan said, “That was the best goal I’ve ever scored.
“The first thing I did was look at the assistant and I saw it was not ruled as offside so I just started to celebrate.
“I was expecting the ball to be in front of me and then I realised I was in front of it.
“As the ball was behind me, the only thing I could do was a backheel so I did that and I succeeded.”
