Henrikh Mkhitaryan was delighted to be involved in a win for Manchester United. The 27-year old who made his third start for the Red Devils almost single-handedly sent United to the semifinal following a 4-1 thrashing of West Ham United.
Jose Mourinho expressed his disappointment towards Mkhitaryan after the Fenerbahce match which United lost 2-1. But the Armenian didn’t lose hope and showed his intent in the last game in the Premier League against West Ham United. He continued his good form as the playmaker was creative throughout the match and also involved in two goals including a delicious backheel pass for United’s opener.
The midfielder was sidelined for a longer period due to an injury but had been kept out of a number of matches. The ex-Borussia Dortmund player said, “The last game we couldn’t score our chances, but now we’ve scored our chances so the difference is that. This time we’ve done maybe more than what we have to do and we’ve scored four goals. Maybe we could score more but in the end we stopped on four goals and I think we’ve done a very good game and the transition from defence to offence was great. We have to keep working to be ready for the next game against Everton.”
He went on to add,” Sometimes after the game you’re feeling tired but it’s a very good tired because you’ve done everything on the pitch and you’re satisfied with the work you’ve done on the pitch, so I think this is the day that everyone is tired but satisfied.
“Of course, it’s always a pleasure to win games because you’re recovering faster, you’re recovering better, you have more fun in the dressing room so it makes you keep the good atmosphere in the dressing room which is what we’re trying to do.”
