Jose Mourinho is reportedly lining up a bid for Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani. Mourinho wants to replace Zlatan Ibrahimović with the Uruguayan striker.
The striker is in red-hot form in this season having netted 20 goals in 20 matches in all competitions for PSG. Zlatan had played alongside Cavani at the Parc Des Princess before joining the Red Devils in the summer on a free transfer. Cavani has 18 months left on his contract and the French club are reportedly very willing to offer him a contract extension.
The 29-year old is still in doubt over his future and has been stalling a contract extension for a while. Jose Mourinho’s side are currently in sixth place and the Portuguese has been searching a suitable goal poacher for his team.
United have been creating a lot of chances but due to lack of a finisher, have fluffed their lines. Wayne Rooney has been lacking the attacking teeth they need and is currently the second choice striker under Mourinho.
Cavani was signed by PSG for £55 million and United have to shell out a handsome fee if they really want to persuade the striker to move to Manchester.
