Manchester United handed a major boost as Eric Bailly is all set to return from injury. The defender suffered a tear in his ligament in United’s 4-0 loss against Chelsea.
Since then the Ivory Coast international has missed a number of games including the Arsenal game and EFL Cup quarter-final against West Ham United.
Bailly’s injury opened the door for Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo as fellow defender Chris Smalling is also out for a broken toe. Jones just returned from injury and has been pretty good for the Red Devils who are sixth in the Premier League table.
Bailly was expected to miss the year but made a quicker than expected recovery. He has already started training and is recuperating from the injury. The defender who was signed from Villarreal for £30m was one of the most notable performers among the new arrivals.
The 22-year-old now is in line to feature against Tottenham Hotspur on December 11.
Jose Mourinho also sounded optimistic about the defender’s recovery, “He is working hard and will be back before the end of the year, for sure.”
