Eric Bailly has hailed Jose Mourinho as the best manager in the world. Bailly arrived from Villarreal for a fee of £30m. The defender has started his United career very well but subsequent injuries have marred his season.
He got injured in United’s 4-0 defeat against Chelsea and has missed a large portion of United’s matches. Mourinho paired Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones in the heart of United defence after Bailly’s injury.
He later sustained a knee injury again against Crystal Palace but this time on the other knee. Before his injury, he was one of United’s most stand out performer this season. Mourinho will miss the defender’s service in January as he will be participating in the AFCON for Ivory Coast.
Bailly said, “He’s [Mourinho] a great manager, the best in the world, it is a pleasure to work and learn with him. I hope it continues like this and that I stay at United for a long time.
“I’m truly happy, with my team and my team-mates. Bit by bit, I’m getting to know more.
“From what I see, football in Spain, they also have a great League. La Liga is the best in the world, but here it is different, very direct, there is more contact and more strength.”
