LIVERPOOL TO REPEAT PAST MISTAKES?
Liverpool have been swashbuckling going forward this season and other than set-pieces have been fairly comfortable defensively as well. The trio of Coutinho, Firmino and Mane have been irrepressible and few teams have been able to stop them, when in full flow.
Klopp’s expansive brand of football has suited them and for a while, it seemed that it would be a two-horse between Chelsea and Liverpool.
But the dramatic collapse against Bournemouth and the frenetic win against Crystal Palace showed that they are far from the finished product. Liverpool have refused to spend at the back and have gone for the economic Matip and Karius. While Matip has looked good, he is injury prone.
Karius has been poor while Milner is not a left-back. There are gaping issues to be sorted and Klopp must act smart and fix these else we can expect to see a so near yet so far year for the Reds.
SWANSEA CITY DESTINED FOR THE DROP?
The Swans befuddled many when they decided against buying a replacement for their talismanic captain Ashley Williams. They decided to persist with their defence which sent shivers down even the most loyal Swansea fan.
They instead decided to put all their eggs in one basket and broke their transfer record twice to bring on board Fernando Llorente and Borja Baston. With the latest 5-0 loss they are now rooted to the bottom.
They have failed to click in any department and followed their horrendous summer transfer policy by appointing American Bob Bradley. Right now, only a miracle can save them from getting into a messy relegation dogfight.
