Pep Guardiola has admired Jurgen Klopp’s playing style in the past. Pep was appointed as Manchester City manager at the start of this season while Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers last season.
Manchester City shrugged off two consecutive defeats and defeated Watford 2-0 in a convincing manner. City are placed in fourth position and a defeat at the hand of Arsenal would pile more misery on them.
On the other hand, Liverpool won their last match 3-0 backed by a spirited performance of Adam Lallana. The Reds got defeated by Bournemouth previously as the Cherries came from two goals down to win the match 4-3 to end their unbeaten streak in all competitions. They will face Everton in the next match and will be trying to reduce the gap to league toppers, Chelsea.
Guardiola said, “For managers it is to win titles. It will be tough, it will be really difficult. Of course we are going to see in February how our position is, and we’ll see after that if we can challenge or not.
“Jurgen Klopp, who I admire a lot for his passion and ideas, I read some time that he said: ‘I don’t just want my team to win, I want to enjoy seeing the team play how I want to play.
“It’s simple. I would like to finish the season with the team playing how I want. Always I am there, on the bench, and we are spectators. When I am sitting there, I want to stand up, looking at my team, and what I see is what I want.”
