Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov returned to the club as the Bulgarian has been invited to training to keep him in shape. The 35-year old is currently a free agent after leaving Greek club PAOK. Berbatov was seen at the AON Training Complex and has observed Jose Mourinho’s training techniques. He later shared a selfie with United forward Wayne Rooney on his Facebook page.
The striker who will turn 36 in January spent four seasons with the Red Devils and had scored 56 goals in 149 appearances. He won a number of coveted trophies during his four-year stay at Manchester including two Premier League trophies.
Berbatov is very determined to make his comeback in the English top tier where he also plied his trade with Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur.
Berbatov expressed his eagerness to play in the English top flight last month, “When you’ve played in the Premier League you don’t want to play anywhere else.
“In this stage of my career I know where I am – I would happily play for a team where they use my experience and my knowledge. I can help young players develop and make the team stronger. In the end it’s all about helping the team play.”
