Jurgen Klopp takes a dig at Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola. The City manager was present in the stand to witness Liverpool’s 4-1 thrashing of Stoke City.
Stoke went ahead in the 12the minute as Jonathan Walters gave the visitors a deserved lead in the 12th minutes. But Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino struck before the break as the Reds went into the interval with a one-goal lead.
An own goal from Giannelli Imbula and a wonderful finish from Daniel Sturridge sealed the matter as the Merseyside club leapfrogged Manchester City to claim the second spot.
Liverpool are scheduled to face Manchester City on the last day of this year and Klopp sarcastically said that Guardiola was at the Anfield to watch ‘Special football’.
“It is [a big game]. It is for both, I heard Pep Guardiola was in the stadium; I am not sure he watched a lot of games in the last few weeks from the stadiums of the opponents, so that’s a first sign it’s a special game and we are already looking forward to it.
“It’s a difficult game for both teams, but exciting and the best thing is it’s at Anfield. I am really looking forward to it.
“They are an outstandingly good side and we are not too bad, so it will be a nice game.”
